Good point, MazeMe, I had forgotten that. But I'd guess that something good with the internet could easily be done on the current console - so I don't see that it would push anything special to trigger a new generation.
So, I'm tentatively concluding that unless Sony and MS push into the Wii space somehow we'll have a long wait.
Perhaps the only thing that could do that big time with enough volume is if Sony focussed more on the PS2, but wouldn't that be sort of shooting themselves in the foot?
I can't see MS succeeding in doing that - so probably it'll be a two-way technology battle of some sort.
