I guess though we should have been able to see this anyways for this week. If the hardware was going to go up it would have happened with the Wii who wasn't coming down from a large dropoff and still being a dominant brand in the market. So really this isn't too much of a surprise but comes off that way seeing that it hasn't happened in 10 weeks (although some of the "Ps3 wins" per se were by 1-2k which was more of a tie).

However, with trends, we probably could have foreseen this. Now, I am more interested for the next few weeks after. I mean it matters in these weeks, but for the long run, it matters more so for the next 10 weeks. See who can really gain that edge. I do think Nintendo has an advantage over these next 2 months but PS3 is still giving it a good go on a weekly basis. However, PS3 really needs to start it up. Mere victories like it did in that 10 week span doesn't come close to making up for an almost 5 million deficit.

So we'll watch the next 2 months and see how it leads us in the heart of the summer before Monster Hunter 3 comes out. But right now Wii has that ace up its sleeve with Wii Sports Resort. I, like many others, thought it was going to be a blessing to see it but it seems it might just be a boost to rub salt in the wound. We'll see how it works out though.
