I am not going to manipulate the figures based upon a subjective point of view. You go down that road, and you have a mountain of excuses. When in the end they will only cancel one another out. Arriving back at the same conclusion. You gripe about the delayed ports, he gripes about the PC cross platforming, she gripes about lower game prices.

Do you have empirical evidence for your claims about rating inflation. I highly doubt that, and if you do please provide a link to the statistical study. Otherwise it is just your word against their word. You say they were influenced, and they say your just influenced by your personal agenda.

Honestly I think the reviews were incredibly accurate. Grand Theft Auto deserved its ratings on sheer volume alone. A sixteen player online mode, a sixty hour main story mode, twenty hours in side quests. With a sandbox template. That ensures close to one hundred and twenty hours of game play in the first crack alone. That is surreal value. Few if any console games have that kind of balance, and are that loaded. No it deserved very high ratings. To not rate it highly would have been a crime not the other way around.

I'm not telling you you should manipulate the figures. I'm telling you that they don't support your conclusion about the userbase's perceived quality of the games. Let's imagine a hypothetical console whose 10 best rated games were all ports of games from a highly popular previous console. The userbase might very well "know (the) quality" of those games, but they still wouldn't necessarily buy them.

Don't bother with fixing that problem though, as many other problems would still remain (as is necessarily the case when taking top 10 lists as gospel).

@Esa-Petteri: It could be, since quality is subjective. So go ahead and make your own lists by all means.
