Do you know why that is. Because prior to the 20th century we didn't know much about the universe. But the more we find out, coupled with the increasing exchange of information, the more evident it is becoming that personal gods are unprovable. Ever think that may be the reason atheist cultures have existed only recently? Perhaps that is why Atheism is growing.
So atheism is the only theology that promotes genocide in the 20th century? How about the Rwandan genocide of 1994 where up to a million people died because of religious beliefs? How about all the countless religious genocides before that? What do you attribute that to? Were the countless religious genocides pre-twentieth century justified somehow?
People will always find excuses to kill other people and because two of them have been atheist does not mean that we are all murdering psychopaths.
