| KBG29 said: Quite simply, Sony can now profit from PS3, so it is time to turn the marketing up. If PS3 had sold Wii like numbers from the start, it would have taken down the whole corperation. Sony had to play it just right, to were they got the userbase they needed, and saved blu-ray, all while not taking to big of a hit on PS3 losses. Now they are in a position were they can go to the consumers and show them what the PS3 is capable of without the fear of loosing billions. |
so you are saying Sony planned to start sluggish when they released PS3 and have about 20% of the market then planned to have a comeback to have more market share when they can afford to make a profit on the hardware.
I'm glad everything in the business world is going according to all corporate planning.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
