Nintendo - Wii Software - View Post

Hrm, i've been looking around the charts and just looking at the situation the Wii is in worldwide and i have to say im intrigued at what we will be looking at a year from now.

Let me explain, personally im waiting for this year to end so i can play  Nights, M&S at the Olympics and SSBB. I am looking forward to Brawl and Galaxy but these are the main three i want. Now i've looked around at MP3''s impact in America and i dont know whether its lower than i expected or not (it doesnt help that the sales of Halo 3 have dwarfed pretty much every first week software sale). Anyone dissapointed with MP3 sales so far? I'm intrigued as to what my choice of games can achieve in sales and if any (apart from Galaxy and Brawl) can be seen as "system sellers". For example, Nights 2 is a game i am going to be highly critical of, the first was insane and i must have been one a select few that played the game originally but despite all the media buzz it has generated since its announcement can we safely say that it will sell systems following its relatively low sales first time around. People are often put off of purchasing a sequel if they dont own the first. Personally i feel that Nintendo have no other choice to place Nights (original) on the Virtual Console a month before Nights 2 is released in order to generate hype and to succesfully hook others.
Mario and Sonic could go either way, i see it as the track and field successor despite not playing it or even knowing a great deal about the control system. More likely to be a sleeper hit than a fully fledged million seller off of the bat.

Now im probably what would qualify as a Wii fanboy, despite owning a 360 as well and my housemate a PS3 so im fully aware of the upcoming software for all systems. Wii doesnt have as many designated system sellers coming out IMO as the 360 which worries me because i see the overall quality of games on the Wii being of a higher standard. This Xmas is an essential year for all parties involved, indeed its the first Xmas in which the consoles are all out worldwide together. Has anybody got any opinions about the upcoming year?
