The only sports game that benefits from Wii is Golf.
Many of you think waggle = realism

Again, who is talking about realism? Sports is about testosterone and brute force which quite simply cannot be expressed by waggling around with no thought on a controlpad for thumbs. Twiddling thumbs any harder does not can deliver that same feeling as swinging your arm wildly. Point.

add :

swinging something 'wildy' does 100 % not add anything in sports like soccer.

the motion sensing Wii delivers is NOT sufficient to improve your feeling in, let's say basketball. its just wagglewaggle-score right now.

until then ( 2020 ? ) i prefer realistic graphics and thumbstick, which at least gives me full control AND enables me to do actions i could NEVER do myself, and i think that is one of the biggest aspects of playing sports games.

Three points:

1. Man has a habit of applying physics where it does not apply. Example: pushing harder on the remote control button when the batteries are weak. This extends into video games, if I push a button to swing a bat, pushing it harder does not equate to a stronger swing, however the speed at which I swing a Wii remote can be measured and represented into a video game. Instead developers for thumb twiddlers use timing mechanisms (tap vs press) to measure force. That's great but you're left with a game that is all about timing. Sports are about two things, timing and strength.

2. Realistic graphics? Cough Cough Cough. I'm sorry but human beings still look creepy as hell when rendered. Ever wonder why zombie games look so good?

3. Moving my arm produces more endorphines than wiggling your thumb. The same endorphines (only a lot less) you feel when playing a real sport. So battling a friend moving around the living, will produce a better feeling than reclined on a couch with feet up.
