1: No (If they wanted cheapness, virtually free hardware (99$) and free online, they should have bought PS2. Xbox 360 is an expensive experience. Not for the faint of heart. PS3 fanboys already said it, Xbox360 is far more expensive than PS3, remember? :)
2: No (Every game is playable without ever connecting the 360 to the Internet.)
3: No (But I strongly suggest to get a Hard Drive. Gaming from the HDD is something they should'nt miss. Pure silence, pure disc conservation, pure shorter loading times.
