Capcom Shipment Expectations for FY 3/2010

Here is what I don't get:

They made 110 games in the year ending March 2009, and 106 in the year ending March 2008 but they are only making 79 games for the year ending March 2010 even though they've been doing pretty well.

The breakdown in FY 3/2009 was:

10 PS2 games, 15 PS3 games, 18 PSP games for Sony

37 DS games, 14 Wii games for Nintendo

12 X360 games for Microsoft

4 PC/Other platform games

This year its down to:

3 PS2 games (-70%), 13 PS3 games (-13%), 8 PSP games (-56%)

28 DS games (-24%), 9 Wii games (-36%)

X360 12 games (0% change)

PC/Others (including iPhone it looks like) 6 games (+50%)

@blue paragraph: That's totally not true, they didn't make 110 games last year. They are either lying and ready to face criminal charges or you misunderstood what they wrote.

What they said is that they SHIPPED units of 110 different games. I honestly can't remember seeing 37 new DS games last year, because 37 is the total number of games they released for the DS in its entire lifetime. Same goes for the Wii, you should read my previous post about this. There's no way in hell they are going to release 28 new DS games when there's barely only 1 new game announced which is Ace Attorney.

They shipped 37 DS games. Check their numbers. You'll see that they shipped GC and Xbox titles well past their lifespan, and no new games came out.

You should check the original Capcom article before spouting off like a raving lunatic.
