oh yea totally.. and do you think apple pays all those korean/chinese manufacturers $10 for 8GB for its ipods.. hell no..if you mass produce anything and order shitloads prices will come down too. Another factor is that a flash card slot would cost next to nothing to put into a console.. as opposed to a blu ray rom drive which would cost say around $60-80.. so if they went back to carts we would actually be spending lesser on the console itself.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
