We had 87. Had there been more ps3s, they would've sold out more than the Wiis, though. The Wii hype didn't pick up until after they got into peoples homes. My friend had no intention of buying one until he played mine a couple of days after I got it. Then the same thing happened to two of his uncles after playing his. The ps3 had an opposite effect, however. After people bought ps3s, they realized it had few games and a sparse release list, so the major hype Sony had at launch quickly disappeared.
The Wii launched pissed us off, too, because a good 40-50 of us froze our asses off sitting outside all night long, and then at around 8:45 this one guy walks up in a bermuda t-shirt and sandals, all nice and comfy, as if nothing is going on . We were like, "If he gets one..." and he ended up being #87 out of 87. We were so pissed.
I was going to camp for a ps3 as well, but everybody beat me to it. Most of them were damn ebayers, too. I still got one on Dec. 24th, one of the first 500,000 with Talladega Nights (such a crappy movie).
