1. Sony launched dual shock after sixaxis so i don't think it will be much hard for them to add a motion controller if they do get the tech right. After all controller is an external part and i don't think it will require anything inside big black PS3 box..?? 2. Sony has already PSN and delivering quite a few games on it. There is no limit on the game size either.? So you are saying that they will just launch a new console to take advantage of digital download.? I can see they can take it right now. Moreoever not everyone likes to download games. So if they go Download Only it can backfire too.. and remember PS3 is not sold in america and EU.. many places in the world still have a lousy internet speed including the BRIC countries. So they will need sometime to catch up to the speed of the rest of the world and removing the easier way of distribution is going to cause another problem. 3. But the hardware is becoming cheap and with every one passing day they are reducing the cost.. Thats the beauty of technology. So now when the PS3 is becoming cheaper they will launch a new technology.? This sound a little stupid to me. 4. I think there are already many threads showing the PS3 is selling equal percentage of software to hardware in American as is XBOX.. or u can start a new thread and show how PS3 ratio is worst than XBOX360.. And again once the PS3 becomes cheaper more and more people will buy it and more software will be sold. 5. Is launching a more powerful console the answer to the problems.? and i think this time even MS is not going to launch a console without fully testing it.. They have spent a lot on repairs... 6. Thats the same.? how is launching the new console going to reduce the cost... There is a concept economies of scale and if Sony launch a whole new console it will have defect rate and more costly tech and it will also need time to reduce in price..
So two wrongs are not going to make a Right.

1. you have to OPTIMISE games for motion tech, you cant just release a controller and go.. here you go.. play all the games that were unoptimised for this technology with this whole new controller! so that makes all the previous software library on the console INCOMPATIBLE with the new controllers.
2. You know what, fuck digital downloads... The way memory is getting cheaper i wont be surprised if console makers move back to carts, hell you can find 8GB chips for under $10. Heck thats AS cheap as a blu ray disc. And most(99%) games would FIT on a 8GB flash chip. Now factor in that 32nm tech is gonna hit memory- so its going to get even more cheaper and roomier.
3. I never said SONY launching a new console would be cheaper- I said the current console is so expensive to make and so complicated by the time they get the price down to mass market levels($200), M$ would be ready to launch the 720 or nearing it, and if m$ are smart as they have proven they are- they would price their BASIC SKU at the 259-299 price range. Now what would consumers buy- a 5 yrs old PS3 or a shiny new xbox720
4.The ps3 sells certain titles better than the xbox yes but on the whole xbox still has the edge.. and its common sense why.. coz they spend LESSER on their console, ergo they have more money to spend on software.
The ps3 is too darn complicated, the yen is too darn strong and the economy is too darn shit. Too darn bad. The ps3 will NOT outlive the PS2. better luck next time.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
