OK, I give up.
This right here just goes to show that debating over the internet just doesn't work.
Here we all are with usernames and avatars. None of us know each other's real names or even what we look like. So we can all just hide behind our computers and say the dumbest shit, deny facts, and basically just throw logic and common sense out the window as there's no embarassment to be had.
example:
here are 2 direct quotes from my OP: in 2008, MS gaming division reported a profit of $267 million for the year
and: before September 2008($199 price), the PS3 was consistently outselling the 360 worldwide on a weekly basis
here is a reply post from tyig:
Look, how wrong you are:
VGChartz Hardware data for the period 05th Jan 2008 to 03rd Jan 2009:
| Console | X360 |
|
Total
|
11,354,637
|
VGChartz Hardware data for the period 05th Jan 2008 to 03rd Jan 2009:
and 360 profited in 2008
| Console | PS3 |
|
Total
|
10,599,460
|
So we both agree that 360 profited in 2008, and yet somehow according to tyig, I am wrong and he is right?
Obviously this 100% defies logic and common sense.
Also I CLEARLY stated that PS3 outsold 360 for a PERIOD OF TIME during 2008, NOT the whole year. So through a combination of fanboyism and a lack of reading comprehension, tyig proceeds to post the total sales for both consoles for the ENTIRE YEAR OF 2008 as an attempt to say I am wrong.
Only on the internet can such ridiculous debates happen. With people face to face, such an inablility to keep the facts straight would be embarrasing. Here, it's greeted with open arms.
I'm now going to ask a mod to delete my account here. I'm sure some of you will be happy to hear that as I'm sure my negative speculation about the future of 360 got your fanboy panties all in a bunch. I love VGchartz for the sales data and news, but the forums just plain suck. While there are some cool people on here, there are way too many dipshits that fuck it up.
