Final Fantasy 8 had the best ending.

The scene in the ending with Laguna and Raine is quite possibly one of the most touching moments in the entire Final Fantasy series.

Laguna was half the reason to play that game all by himself, but I don't think he saved an ending that destroyed everything I thought was great about that game's story - which didn't turn out to be as great as I thought.

Worst is probably FFVII. I don't know if you can even really call it an ending.

Best? Probably either FFVI or FFXII. Put a gun to my head and I'll pick FFXII. Far and away the best-written and best-composed ending in the series.

Composition talking about the plot, not the music. Kiss Me Goodbye is the best vocal piece I've heard by Uematsu, but you can't really beat FFVI's ending theme.
