my review of "Phantasy Star Portable" for the psp

its set after the events of the illumonis , the expansion pack for phantasy star universe for the 360/ps2.

story : u are a new recruit for the guardians and u start off helping with a remnant seed attack, and then u go from the guardians colony to the 3 planets ( parum,neudaz,matoob ). over the course of 8 chapters u battle bosses and learn why these sudden remnant seed attacks are happening. u also get to see familiar faces from phantasy star universe in the game like, ethan webber,karen ( the divine maiden ), and other guardians u played with during the game. the ending boss fight is something u will remember from phantasy star universe if u beat that game.

controls/weapons : are the same as in phantasy star universe, so if u liked the setup for that game, then u will like this one as well. their is more weapons to choose from in this game then in the previous ones, also u get more skills to choose from and some of them can really do alot of damage if u upgrade them. this time around u can upgrade any weapon u want without the fail of losing the items, because u dont have any items to lose. u upgrade your weapons by using a upgrade grinder u get from completeing story chapters and finding them on the battle field during your free missions.

extras/replay value : u have plenty of stuff to do in the game, from doing tons of free missions to upgrade your character. to changing your job into the next more advanced job , i for example liked the hunter class , i then moved up to the fightman class which gave me more hp and better overall stats. also the character customization in this game is pretty robust , which is cool. u also get a partner machine to help u out in your missions or story events and u get to choose from around 10 different choices for your machine. also if u have a wifi setup at your house or have a wifi hotspot u can go to u can play with other ppl and enjoy a mini-mmorpg element. i enjoyed the multiplayer area alot and found the lag for me to be almost nothing.
