Is it even hate, or is it just a general lack of confidence?

I mean, saying "the PS3 won't reach 10m" a few years ago doesn't seem any more off-base than saying "the PS3 will outsell the 360" now. It's all speculation based on little-to-no real data, just pessimism or optimism.

Now, saying "the PS3 will end this generation in dead last, according to a linear regression of its current trends," however, actually has a great deal of merit.
