Sony is doing great at Japan, but Europe and America sales are sad.

BUT it sold less in 2008 than it did in 2007 in the first 4 months of the year in Japan... So it isnt doing so well really. It is doing OK, but console sales as a whole arent great in Japan.

2009 to end of April 478,047 huge drop.

 

 PS3 sales are on the rise in Japan. Wii is declining in Japan. Following the trend of previous generations Nintendo consoles start off well in Japan but fade away in later years.
