Sega would not be able to support a new console with even remotely the same quantity of quality software as they used to. A lot of their great games came as arcade ports, and Sega isn't making much in arcades any longer. It's best that Sega went out with a bang, giving us all quite possibly the best 18 months of gaming any console could have hoped to give, and plenty of innovations for the industry to boot. |
