You need to be more upset with Nintendo. They should be purchasing exclusives to ensure their console has the variety and quality its customers deserve. They should be expanding their offerings into mature titles to prove to developers that their console will not be age group defined. They should even be expanding their marketing.

So basically, it's not enough for Nintendo to provide the cheapest-development-cost console and the fastest-selling console of all time. They also need to:

1) Give third-parties money to get them to make games for the console.

2) Change their core business philosophy of the past thirty years to sway third-parties to maek games for their console.

3) Market games for third-parties on a level equal to what they did for Wii Fit.

I think you're sorely mistaken. Even if Nintendo did all of these, it would not be enough. I propose that, in addition to your brilliant proposals, Nintendo should also:

4) Do all of the brainstorming and pre-production for third-party games.

5) Devote at least 85% of their internal teams to developing games on behalf of third-parties.

6) Waive all royalty fees for third-parties, just in case the game flops.

7) Lend out all their mascots to third-parties upon request, no questions asked.

8) Make Miyamoto act as a free director/producer/tech support handler for all third-parties, even if this is not requested.

9) Buy an island resort for third-parties to lay back and relax in style and comfort while their games are being made for them.

10) Have Iwata personally wipe the ass of any third-party developer who needs such a service to survive in this cruel industry.

So who's with me?! I honestly feel that I'm being a bit too conservative here, and fear that I may have overlooked something. So I'm opening up the floor to everyone now. Feel free to make your own suggestions, people.

Exactly. his reasoning is completely off. The way I see it is Third Parties are just leaving alot of money on the table.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
