and mikeb hijacks the thread and turns it into PS3 FTW!

Your very first post is littered with PS3 references and subtle digs at MS/360. so so sad.

Nothing new.  Obviously to most adults its clear.  Large corporations by and large are about making money above all else.  The levels of management are many in companies the size we are discussing.  Bad decisions get made at times.  Sometimes they get made intentionally with the highest levels of management knowing.  Sometimes not.  From the outside its hard to ever know the truth on that.  Thats said, I do think Sony has a better overall reputation than Microsoft.  (Which is why I own stock in Sony and not MS).  But with someone like MikeB its pretty clear that he has ulterior motives.  He is not 13 or 16, he can't use immaturity and fanyboism as an excuse (there is a reason why its called fanboyism and not fangrownmanism).  It can hardly be clearer that he will severly downplay anything bad Sony has ever done, but yet at the same time try to magnify anything Microsoft does that is distasteful.  Let alone how he likes to hijack threads to that end.  Thats not equitable, its not following simple fair play either.  And he can hardly make it clearer that it has to do with his desire to be in business with Sony.

Adult reality check.  Sony is no more any gamer's buddy than Microsoft is.  Fanboys do their arguing because they are kids (or really immature or disabled adults).  They do it because they need to justify the one system Mommy or Daddy bought them (or that they saved themselves to get).  Or they are just immature and like taking sides to senselessly argue for the sake of it.  Any grown person that is a gamer though knows that each system (and company) has its strengths and weakness', some of which may change over time.  And a true gamer goes to multiple platforms to play games that are good, no matter what system they are on so long as the price is justifiable to them economically.

Microsoft entered the console market because they don't want to be limited in their available revenue streams too narrowly in focus.  They also did not want to be behind should computing shift more to the living room away from the home computer desk.  This is extremely old news.
