I think you mentioned something that people neglect to take into account, and that is that while the MSRP for the Wii is $250 US, for the longest time it didn't sell at that price.
I remember my son asking for it on launch and I wasn't able to get one that wasn't bundled with at least two games, an extra controller and some other doodad (at retail) or online (ebay) for less than $450 US (if you were lucky).

Yet at the same time and for roughly the same price (sans bundling) you could get a PS3 just by walking into a brick and mortar store, or ordering online (no sold out warning, unlike the Wii)

But I agree, people neglect to notice what people will pay for for a Wii. That is the reason the demand curve is almost vertical on my graph. It was good enough for stores to price gough and still sell units.
