Thanks for the insight.

And to the 2 above me, no, most people either don't know this or don't want to believe it. Especially 360 fanboys who want to believe that M$ is such a great company that has the best interests of their customers at heart, LOL.

M$ don't give a shit about console gaming or gamers for that matter. So Sony and Nintendo have consoles that to some degree threaten Windows. If M$ was confident in their OS they would simply work hard to make sure it stays ahead of the curve of anything the consoles have.

Healthy competition is good for consumers and it drives companies to innovate and make quality products. Unfortunately M$ will never see it this way and will waste billions of dollars trying to stomp Sony and Nintendo into the ground instead of spending that money making quality products.

At this rate, M$ is losing 5 billion $ per generation. Maybe after a few generations, they will finally back out of console gaming and let Sony and Nintendo do what they do best:)

Sorry but the only company losing 5 BILLION this generation in SONY.

Also, just making quality products is NOT ENOUGH to be successful.

Why did SONY BRIBE Warner Bros with 500 MILLION $$$$ to go blu-ray exclusive instead of just "making a quality product?

Why do you think ALL MAJOR CORPORATIONS pay lobbyists to buy off congressmen.

Welcome to the real world.

It's always a good idea to do a little research before you run your mouth

So to reiterate what I said, MS IS LOSING 5 billion per generation, NOT Sony and here's all the info you need to understand this:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=57802

MS lost around 5.5 billion from 2000-2004 with the Xbox

They also lost nearly 4 billion from 2005-2007 with the 360 and in 2008 they finally made a profit of 267 million.

BUT, as you may already know, they posted LOSSES last quarter because of their desperate move to drop the 360 price to $199 and take losses on the hardware again. But who could blame them? I mean at $279 they were being outsold weekly by the $399 PS3(with an inferior game library according to MS), how embarrasing. Maybe they also thought that by dropping the price $50 cheaper than the Wii, they could outsell it too??? LOL.

To this date MS's console division is over 9 billion in the red.

Sony on the other hand don't look to good right now, but they their yearly losses went from 2 billion in 2007 to 1 billion in 2008. Unlike MS, Sony hasn't dropped the price for a while and are most likely at break-even on the hardware sales. This combined with increasing software sales and a very strong game lineup for 2009, it would be almost impossible for the mto not make a profit.

To this date Sony's console division is 2.2 billion in the black.

And did you just completely pull the whole "500 billion bribe" thing outta your ass???

and, uh "welcome to the real world"
