Counter-Strike is awesome, but it hasn't withstood the test of time. CT is still badass to me; if only I could still find one of my friends who still played it.

 

Valve has had the next generation of Counter-Strike in planning for a while. I expect to see something on it with HL2:Ep3 aka the best FPS released up till the release of Half-Life 3.

HL3 would be the best FPS ever. The new episode wouldn't. If they truly are working on HL3, I'd say that their claim has merit to it. Otherwise...I'm hard pressed to think what they mean. System Shock 3?

 

 

EA has nothing to do with Valve other than licensing their titles to sell retail copies...

I know. Which is why I find it near impossible for them to have merit to their claim.

No matter what Half-Life 2: Episode 3 versus anything EA puts out is a joke anyways so their claim can be voided right there. HL2:Ep3 will use Source Engine upgrades from Left4Dead and other Source titles as well as other major improvements. It will be by far the best game in the HL franchise to be released since HL and HL2 due to it concluding the chapter of the HL2 story.
