I personally believe Nintendo will capture a dominant share of the market over all. Nintendo will continue to see massive success over into 2008 possibly even into 2009. But sales will begin to dip gradually starting next year it will begin to sell on a more even basis.
I say Nintendo Wii will likely sell about 60-million by the end of the generation. I would say Nintendo will likely maintain a market share of about 55% of the over all market. Nintendo will enjoy very good software sales and will recapture a huge portion of the software market. Nintendo will make billions upon billions of profits based on the low manufacturing costs. Nintendo will take a majority of Japans sales I'd say 70% , Nintendo will hold a market share of about 40% of the North American market and likely about 45% of the european market.
Microsoft will likely make some major gains this fall in the North American and European market. I bet Microsoft will capture a market share of about 50% of North America and about 40% of Europe with about 5% of the Japanese market over all I expect Microsoft to have about a 35% market share over al.
Sony I expect to continue bombing through this fall and well into 2008, I think sales may begin to level off in about 2009 when sales finally level out. I expect Sony to capture about 25% of Japans market , capturing about 10% of the North American market and about 15% of the European market. Sony will likely hold about 15% of the global market come generations end.
Microsoft is doing a far better job marketing their 360 then Sony is marketing their PS3. Microsoft is going to continue dominating North America and Europe but not make any gains in Japan where PS3 will maintain its second place position. Nintendo may slow down eventually but will maintain a big lead till the end of the generation. As far as profits are concerned Nintendo will make far more money then any of its competition!
