The term 'hardcore' gets batted around a lot without much attempt at definition, so I thought it would be interesting to do a quick survey on what VG chartz Members think constitute the most 'hardcore' games. I'm not offering a definition, just answer on how you understand the term and what springs to mind.

 

Without giving it too much thought I'd say good examples might be:

Civilization series,

Gears of War,

Smash Bros series,

World of Warcraft
