In that case, I say we link edits to VGC $. Each edit costs you $5. Maybe people will read their posts before posting it and stop making unfinished posts that need to be edited 'several times' to be right. If theres 50 or 100 posts in a thread, and all 50-100 are edited posts, the thread should be closed because something went seriously wrong in it. Seriously, world-might-end-tomorrow wrong. |
I'm not sure why you would say this. I make grammar errors all the time or I realize that I phrased something poorly. As a result I edit my post for clarity. I wish more people would take the time to reread their posts and fix mistakes after they've posted. I think the forums would be better for it.
Charging people vg$ to fix their mistakes seems counterintuitive. If you want a forum full of posts with spelling and grammar errors because no one wanted to pay the vg$ to edit those mistakes then feel free to push for that. I don't think it would help vgChartz.
In the end, it's a matter of benefit. What benefit does seeing the edit line give you? "So&so editted her post 3 times" means exactly what to you... or anyone for that matter? I can think of actual things which could improve vgChartz like categories for "Reporting a post" to help moderators quickly address circumstances. A mark on posts which have resulted in the user getting a warning or ban to serve as a warning to other users of what not to do. The ability to search a specific user's posts and only those posts. A photo gallery which does not return an error upon uploading an image.
There are plenty of more useful things that can be improved or added in vgChartz's next version.
