This is true. They never do anything by themselves. The PS1 was clearly a... something, only modified slightly and all their other ideas suck anyway.

 

You missed the part where I said "this generation".  You're living in the Playstation glory days not the current reality of the Playstation brand.  Sony no longer seems to be the first in anything anymore.  Sixaxis...  Trophies...  Multiple console offerings (something they bashed Microsoft for and then copied them).  If Sony continues to lose money it'll be interesting to see if they can survive next generation.  Of course they could end up becoming the next Sega and provide great third-party support.  Imagine Gran Turismo on an Xbox console and Little Big Planet on a Nintendo one.
