Well, I've got over 1000 in Lost Odyssey, but that counts DLC points so I haven't maxed it out.
Closest I've gotten to maxing games out is 980/1000 (Assassin's Creed) and 1030/1100 (Lost Odyssey). So, regrettably, I'm not familiar with what you are feeling. :(
