sales are down for wii 38% while sales are up for ps3 by 21.7%
if the "same ryhtm" you speak of kept up, next year it would look like this:
wii: 296,390
ps3: 571241
and then the next year:

ps3: 725200
@500k gap difference a year.... then by my calculations it would take 10 years.....
EDIT: yes, there is no competition. They are in different markets appealing to different base with different product based on similar technology and goal.
