read this O p or dont post thank you

sales tracking is not correct by is nature

why should we bother doing it than?

we track sales or we follow a tracking site so we know what happening.so why do we get upset when two, three or more site don't agree?

the main reason we get upset is our console, widget or favourite...............[fill in the blank] is not doing as we want it to.

This is not the fault of the tracking site. Get over it people there are to many bad things happening in the world.

I am going to try and give three sets of tracking examples.

firstly 2347 widgets have been sold out of 3000 shiped. I know this because I make the widgets and went to every reseller to find out myself.

tracking A: is in contact with two resellers [1] sells 25 [2] sells 47 site has 20% of resellers

tracking B: is in contact with four resellers[3] sells 87 [4] sells    7   [5]sells 198  [6] sells 2 site has 40% of resellers

tracking C: is in contact with two resellers [2] sells 47 [5] sells 198 site has 20% of resellers

if you add up % of resellers it comes to 80% but infact they only account for 60% of resellers.

whats more the real sales that they have is only 15.63% of sales. approx

now if you haven't left this is where it gets interesting.

for each tracking site to be correct with there numbers they will have to break in to my safe and get my numbers that I went to all that trouble to get dont forget to look out for the dog.

each site needs to work out how much market share there resellers have without my numbers they cannot get this correct but they can get close with time.

how can they work this out?

how will they know that what they come up with is close Is's called trail and error

but since I know the numbers and so do you if you broke in to my safe I'm going to help these tracking companys

A: has 3.06% so if you divide 72 by 3.06then multiply 100 you get 2352

B: has 4.00% so if you divide 94 by 4.00then multiply 100 you get 2350

C: has 8.56% so if you divide 201 by 8.56 then multiply 100 you get 2348

now you say what's your point.

It's this no tracking firm, company or web site ever get it right it is almost impossible do you understand my point.

this site and any one else that tracks sales does a lot of work and on this site they give us this for frees so dont whine.

last point is that even with almot correct market share ABC could not get it right.
