Psychonauts. Beyond Good and Evil, God Hand, Killer 7. If PS2 owners ignore these great games, why should third-parties care?
Obvious answer: because a few titles will always flop, but the system has proven its ability to sell other quality titles.
More in-depth answer: You may want to shoot Suda51 and Grasshopper Studios an e-mail telling them that No More Heroes flopped, because those poor fools are under the impression that it's not only Suda51's best-selling title ever (we threw a party. There was cake. It was awesome.), but they were so happy with the sales that they're making a direct sequel, something Suda51's never done before. In fact, let's ask the publisher how they feel about the game.

"Disappointed" indeed...
And what of Madworld? It's a complete flop that would have done so much better on other systems, right? Weeeeelllllll...
It turns out Madworld is the spiritual sequel to a PS2 game called "God Hand." Most of the developers are the same, and the beat-em-up gameplay is similar, especially on Hard Mode. But don't worry if all of this is new to you, because you see, God Hand sold terribly on the PS2. (70k worldwide, lifetime).

Madworld's already outsold that, and it's still at full price. Let me repeat that:
The Wii's game more than doubled the sales of its PS2 predecessor in just over a month.
But who needs perspective?
