Well...Tales of Vesperia would probably have sold even worse on Wii, so we have no way of knowing that, I suppose.

May I suggest, purely as a crazy wild idea of mine, that we can at least gauge this title's sales by looking at the Wii's Tales of game? Y'know, the one that was released at the exact same time (but was publicly acknowledged as the spinoff game, where Vesperia was the main title)? Seeing as how New World did better, that would tend to show that the Wii would have sold more copies...

Nah, that method would just be crazzy!

But let's take another example: Call of Duty: World at War. 5.4 million on 360, 3.22 million on PS3, 1.12 million on Wii. This is actually a comparison we can make. Why is it that, despite the fact that the Wii has well over double the PS3's userbase, the PS3 version outsold the Wii version almost 3:1? And why did the 360 version outsell the Wii version well over 4:1?

May I suggest the fact that Call of Duty IV skipped the Wii may have shifted the userbase? This may have escaped your attention, but Call of Duty wasn't a particularly big franchise until Modern Warfare came around. That would be the same Modern Warfare that was never released on the Wii.

Plus you can't deny that the marketing push wasn't exactly equal. In fact, you may recall that when World at War came out, there were initially several stores that didn't even have the game in their database, since the Wii version's release was much less heralded.

To support my thesis, I propose we look at the last Call of Duty that was released before Modern Warfare skipped the Wii.

Note that the Wii version outsold the PS3's version. And you can't use the "USERBASE!!!" argument either, because the Wii version also outsold the PS2's. Kind of implies that the Wii can move software just fine, assuming you give it an equal chance...
