I doubt it, aside from some exceptions oriented towards younger viewers, anime has not been that successful in the west, it's still not really mainstream and very often not culturally neutral as Nintendo content tends to be (or tries to be). Given their recent strategy, I think what we're going to see is mostly very Western content (or at least content that has been successful in the West), as well as content that promotes their business such as Pokemon.

No it's not, it's a niche (with some exceptions of course) just as 'hardcore' gaming is a niche. If it was truly big in the West, you'd see it heavily on daytime TV and/or primetime TV on the major US and European channels. Do you?
