I'm actually a little surprised MSNBC wrote such a bad article.  Well, I'm not surprised a bad article came from them, I'm surprised this bad article came from them.  I don't really know why they decided to trash the DSi all of a sudden.

The DSi is a good buy if you don't have DS but probably not the best if you already have one.  This article just makes it seem like it's a waste of time.

5) It's more of an update than "new"

What it doesn't offer in power (even though I thought it did have more), it does offer new things like the camera and the store that the DS will never have.  It's new, just the same idea of new that the Wii is.

4) It doesn't play all DS games

They make it sound like it doesn't play half the library when it doesn't play like four games and from what I've heard none of those games are good anyways.

3) It doesn't play GBA games

This is a deal breaker for me but for some reason I don't think the average MSNBC reader would care.  I care because I sold my GBA long ago since my DS handled it nicely.

The person who is getting a new DSi and doesn't have a DS either still has their GBA or doesn't have GBA games.  In that case, that's like saying the Xbox 360 is a bad deal because it can't play Wii games.

2) Online store is light on content

Yeah, and the DSi isn't even a month old yet.

1) No killer-ap

See above.  Nintendo has already promised DSi only games.
