Do you realize the NES has shipped over 62 million? There's no way the PS3 will pass it "with ease", if at all.

From the current data, it will with ease. The potential market has greatly expanded since NES times.

The PS3 sold 22M in 2.5 years out of a 10 years projected cycle and it still hasn't hit the price "comfort zone" where sales pick up for all consoles. The 360 will also pass that post unless its life is cut short for some reason.
