Imagine this instead: So many people have the Wii, the word of mouth is spreading like wildfire. Alot of people who don't play games (80% of people dont really play games) are now demanding the Wii in greater numbers, and thats not even including the other 10% who ARE gamers who probably want a Wii. And Nintendo gets another Manufacturing partner. Except this time, they can produce double of what they were producing before. And now, Nintendo actually starts advertising again! Hah! They still sell out during christmas 2007, after passing the 360 in august in total hardware units. |
He's saying that the Wii is selling out now, so they are unable to stockpile enough units for the holiday season to maintain supply. Selling 1M a month worldwide at the beginning of the year is nice, but that's be absolutely terrible for December--Wii could possibly push 4M if they could actually stockpile enough for it. But because they're still selling out, maybe they aren't stockpiling yet (we don't know really).
