Serious thread, what is happeneing to the Wii?

Yes you right but how many of those sales are from men between 20-35.  I'm guessing most of those sales are from families with kids or hardcore Mario fans.  I've played Mario Kart at a friends house so I say it's a family game.  Why isn't it?

Mario Kart Wii has always been tagged as a "bridge game", as in appealing to both core Nintendo gamers and extended audience. Compare its sales with the sales of SMG and Zelda, and it's clear that most of its sales must be coming from the latter.

You're making it way too simple. Of course most teenagers will dive onto anything sporting blood and sex and will usually reject Mario as an icon of the kiddie phase from which they want to distance themselves. But you know what? When you really grow up you are able to both see through the blood&tits varnish and at the same time wish for some more touching and complex content than Mario and Pikmin games.

At that point you can still enjoy the great gameplay of SMG, still have fun mowing down people in GTA and appreciate plots, mechanics, atmospheres of games like Shadow of the Colossus, Planescape Torment, Half Life, Eternal Darkness.

The whole "when you're mature you prefer X" argument cuts both ways and is actually quite useless. When you're mature you look deeper into all things.

Well that's my point.  I enjoy Little King's Story but also enjoyed Godfather Wii and RE4 and Fallout 3 are amongst my best games ever.  My point is that it is only an immature person that would think a game that has guns or sex is for grown folk while a cutesy cartoony game like Little King's Story is only for kids.

similar as me, i enjoy MySims, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and at the same time RE, Scarface, MadWorld

and i'm going to play Little King's Story soon : )
