The PS3 will most likely be in 3rd place, since the distance is quite big and Microsoft is always one step ahead of Sony in terms of price. By the time the PS3 reaches a truly acceptable price ($200-$250), the generation will almost be over and the PS3->360 gap will be more than 10 million instead of "just" 8 million.

I see the gap to be around 6-8 millions for the next 2 years. By the time PS3 outsells the 360 in others the gap will be around 6 millions consoles and all thanks to America. IMO the gap will never go over 10millions and never under 4

The gap is 8.15 million right now and growing (except this week due to PS3's Japan sales spike). How do you think the PS3 can reduce it to 6-8 million for the next two years?

I think it will near 9 million this year, if not more. Then in 2010, I don't see how Sony can shave 3 million off of that, so your 6 million number seems rather weird to me.

By the end of the year, with all the releases PS3 will have the gap will be bellow 8 millions. In 2010 (with the assumption of a pricecut) PS3 will gain momentum in others and japan, while battling 360 in america (will lose though)...this way its not very hard to cut from the gap another 700k-800k. So in 2 years the gap can be under 7million.

To tell you the truth i can not see how gap can go over 10 or 11 millions in 2 years time. If you have a theory i'll be happy to hear it
