Why would they want to fix anything? They are selling a cheap system for cash, and not for the hope of future cash like Sony and Microsoft.
The Wii and DS helped make them one of the most powerful companies in Japan.
I'm sorry, I know the Wii has it's limitations but if Nintendo had the chance to go back in time and correct their current gen. mistakes, I don't think they would change too much.
