No matter how good games such as GTA Chinatown Wars on the DS or Madworld, etc. are on the Wii, it often seems like the sales numbers end up being extremely low considering the size of the userbase. This is an important lesson that IMO developers need to be aware of. Simply looking at the number of consoles sold is not good enough justification to make certain games. You have to know your audience. No matter how good GTA on the DS is, it's the wrong audience. This becomes a self perpetuating problem. A developer puts out a "hardcore" game, it sells poorly and it reduces the likelihood of them putting out more "hardcore" games. Therefore, the system has a hard time attracting "hardcore" gamers which is why the game sold poorly in the first place.
Such a highly reviewed game from a MAJOR franchise, should not be down to almost half price already.
