I just think it is wrong that our job now says it's OK to read CNN, or CNET, or Entertainment Weekly, but not IGN.com. Or it is OK to read Dilbert at work (we even have a Dilbert link on our intranet), but not Penny-Arcade. |
Many companies do want to trust their employees to be responsible. But the fact is that, as I mentioned elsewhere on this post, many employees will abuse this trust if they think they can get away with it. Perhaps you don't slack off, but what about the other 8 people who browse forum incessantly while on the job?
