you can have the best technical platform and even a good price point, if the general market and retail dosent have a favorable perception of the product your in trouble.

sony is in a very vicarious position, not only with the market but also within the industry. they need to break the mold of being an equal to 360. that isnt going to be easy given the economy, development costs and the current situation many of the large publishers find themselves in. developers see the profitable entry being a duo/trifecta release. sonys misjudgments and errors this gen have been really costly (namely blu-ray). they've given microsoft a way to worm into the market to create a viable and legitimate platform. pricing is one problem of many that ps3 has. it stems from the very hardware to the consumer and developer.
