That is the silliest thing I have heard since about 5 minutes ago when I was reading some thread predicting PS3 will surpass X360 by this December.
There are things with better than 1080p out now!, called PCs.... the thing with gaming consoles is that they are tied to televisions..... do you really think in 4 years people will be willing to buy a new TV after they just bought a 1080 TV only a few years previously.
In 4 years the "standard" definition will be still only just changing over from the current 480 to 1080 or whatever... hel at the moment there are still hardly any HD television channels available here in the UK (BBC HD, Sky HD, and some of the Sky film channels)
In fact it is going to be another 2 years before everyone in the UK is finally forced to switch to digital TV over analogue, never mind when HD become standard.
