2x Blu-ray Drive (72Mbps(9MB/s))
Single Layer (2x CLV) - Constant Linear Velocity (Same speed across entire disk)
Double Layer - Couldn't find any data but no games have been released on a double layer yet.

Entire Blu-ray Disk is read at 9MB/s.

12x DVD-Rom Drive SL (9.25MB/S-15.85MB/s(AVG ~8x(10.57MB/s) DL (4.36MB/s-10.57MB/s(AVG ~6x(7.93MB/s)
SL(DVD-5) 12x Max (5-12x Full CAV) - Constant Angular Velocity (Speed Varies from edge to edge)
DL(DVD-9) 8x Max (3.3-8x Full CAV) - Constant Angular Velocity (Speed Varies from edge to edge)

SL DVD is 1.57MB/s > SL Blu-ray
DL DVD is 1.07MB/s < SL Blu-ray

Majority of 360 games are on DVD-9.

 WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The DVD Drive in the Xbox 360 has a max transfer speed of 12x for BOTH single layer and double layer

Therefore, you have just admitted that Xbox 360 has a faster maximum transfer rate, and a faster average overall transfer rate.

How do I know this?

Because I frequent forums where people flash their drive with modified firmware, the firmware is available in 5x\8x\12x (12x being the original unmodified firmware)

There is no such thing as a single layer Xbox 360 game, so why would you pluck that crap outta thin air, we all know the max speed of the 360 DVD drive is 12x it's not even up for debate. I've backed up my own games at 12x for heavens sake directly from the Xbox 360 drive...

Why do you think it's so damn noisy?

A drive spinning at 8x is nearly silent

Oh and your "sources" don't prove diddly squat. They aren't even sources. Just defenitions of CAV\CLV

...There's more than ONE Hitachi DVD drive in existence...you most likely don't even know the model numbers in the 360...

Well, they are

3120L Hitachi....Which ISN'T EVEN SOLD AT REATIL!!!!!

Man, talk about not knowing what your talking about.

FAKE indeed!
