I don't think he says that BR will not replace DVD from the consumer's perspective. What he says is that the movie companies do not see BR as the cash cow they expected it to be. They expected BR prices to be very high forever, but since the consumers' expectations changed from the HD channels pricing, BR is not valued as much as they would like (and comparable to DVD)
i.e. they are still looking for the new cash cow to milk moeny off the consumers.
