i don't trust either of them
One makes crappy hardware, and is willing to under cut its own profits to kill competition, while the other monopolized the market through over saturation of cheap crappy, unoriginal and under developed controls and game design.
You wonder why Nintendo is still around? How can a company that used to have such innovative control and design in their walkman's do absolutely nothing new with their game machines. MS just copied Sony and used their excessive monopoly in PC operating software to buy out the competition.
Id like to know how people think that either MS or Sony can innovate ( to a point that surpasses Nintendo's pedigree) when their history of game genres, interactivity and controls never truly stepped outside the box. When they did it was usually copied from Nintendo anyway.
Every time i hear moaning about Nintendo's cheap plastic accessories or casual games you should be asking yourself not why Nintendo do it but why competitors don't.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
