Probably not. It might be that the only thing that could put PS3 beyond the 360's sales would be the retirement of the 360.

However, it reaches a point where the PS3 is getting enough good games and has enough sales that it doesn't matter how its fared against the 360 because it has shown that it can do well in its own right.

And, I think being able to say we were able to beat the other guys only because we cut the heck out of our console's price is a hollow victory.

A question arises what if PS3 sold so well, it deserved its price cut, but the 360 was just matching prices to guarantee they stayed in second place.

To be fair, the PS3's price has fallen substantially from launch ($600 to $400) with 12-18(depending on the region) months less on the market than the 360. It's not uncommon for a console in it's 4th year to have dropped like the 360 in price... whereas the PS3 dropped off $200 from its initial price within what... like 12-18 months of launch? and now people are expecting another $100 price cut... That would put the PS3 to 50% it's launch price... and the 360 hasn't done that yet despite being on the market longer.

(Also, 360 versions have added things like HDMI ports, whereas lower cost PS3s have actually dropped functionality... BC, USB slots, etc)
