The USA has no or little history. What they call history we call modern events lol. But seriously it only has a two hundred+ years of real history.
British history is jam packed full of stuff, but to justify it I'm going to go with European history as just British history would make little sense without the rest of Europe. Italy, France, Germany, Spain, it's been one hell of a ride.
Now as for people of historical importance I'm afraid no-one can beat the British.
