I'd prefer Capcom to make an original RE with Wii controls. I don't like analog stick aiming and I'm ridiculously bad at it.
@topic: It sounds like the coop could be very good, and as long as it plays good alone too I don't see what's to complain about it. My flat mate could join me. If only the gameplay is interesting...
