Until you start thinking as the collection of dollars as burden on the people of the country, your political views will always be swayed towards socialism. When all you see is the good taxes do when you spend them, and not the bad they do with you collect them, of course you will want to do good things with the money.

It's the same as thinking killing an animal for food is worse then going to the grocery store and buying meat. They both come from the same place :)

All I can say is do what I did. Go bust your ass for 20 years to climb your way up to upper-middle class, only to have the government take away 1/3 of what you worked so hard for, so others don't have to work, and see if you still think "it's just a tax".

Just saw this. I view the taxes the same way he does, and eventhuogh I'm getting taxed now a ridiculous amount, I'm only pissed about the state tax (I'm paying out of state for fuckign college why the FUCK are they taking my money?). I also don't see the difference between buying meat and killing an animal. In fact I'd rather kill the animal beacuse then I know the animal would be perfect. Best meal I had was rabbit stew with the rabbit killed in our backyard that morning.

Also I can guarantee you my parents busted their ass far more than you did ( i know abot your 20 dollars for 3 weeks story too) to get to upper-middle, lower-high class. They are all thoroughly up for giving taxes for what matters (health, security, infrastructure).

So I guess your limited view of the world just got expanded ,eh?
